They want it to be black and white, without caveats. That’s because the Whole30 wants to only give that label to something that is Whole30 Approved® for everyone, always. That being said, there is not a single Yogurt Brand that has the official Whole30 Approved® status. Brands can become officially Whole30 Approved®, and use the Whole30 Approved label on their products to help consumers like us know when a product is trusted by the Whole30 team.

Are there any Whole30 Approved® Yogurt Brands?įirst, let me explain that Whole30 Approved® is a label trademarked by the Whole30. To see all of them you can get the Whole30 Sweeteners cheatsheet here.Īdditives you may find in Yogurts that are compliant:Īcacia Inulin, Agave Inulin, Calcium Carbonate, Acacia Gum, Gellan Gum, Guar Gum, Locust Bean Gum, Xanthan Gum, Natural Flavors, Niacin, Potassium Chloride, Riboflavin, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Nitrite, Sodium Nitrate, Sunflower Lecithin, Zinc Gluconate, Potato Starch, Probiotic Cultures or Live Active Cultures. You might also see rice starch added to yogurts, which also rules them out for your Whole30. We’re trying to avoid all sweeteners (look in the ingredients themselves, NOT the nutrition label), carrageenan, soy lecithin (sunflower lecithin is ok!), and sulfites. We’re looking for as few ingredients as possible! Almost all the time, Whole30 Compliant Yogurts will be labeled as “unsweetened.” What to Avoid in Yogurt What to Look For to find Whole30 Compliant Yogurt Brands The Whole30 is such a personal thing- it’s up to you if you feel like Whole30 Compliant yogurt options are a good choice for you and your Whole30. You could use the Whole30 Compliant yogurt options below as an added element to your breakfast routine, and sparingly at that. This doesn’t line up at all with the Whole30 Meal Template. What we don’t want to reinforce is your current yogurt-and-fruit-every-morning routine. There could be times we want to sit down and have some yummy yogurt, so I want to provide you with a list of Whole30 Compliant Yogurt Brands and Where to Find them to make it as easy as possible for you! Just don’t make this your every day breakfast. Also, as stated above, nuts aren’t your best fat choice, but that doesn’t exclude them from the Whole30 entirely. Yogurt is kind of a weird in between, because you’re obviously eating it with a spoon, but you’re not actively chewing it like food. Generally, for satiety and hormone balance, eating (and chewing) your food is always preferred to drinking it. So when it comes to almond milk, even if you make your own… we’d rather you just eat the almonds once in awhile! Tip: Nuts and seeds aren’t your best fat choice, in general, and drinking your food is always less healthy than eating it. Here is the “Tip” about Almond Milk in my favorite Whole30 Book simply called “ The Whole30,” and as I’ve said in other Whole30 Approved posts, I think it’s applicable in this situation, too. What is the official rule when it comes to Whole30 Compliant Yogurt?Īs long as the ingredients in your yogurt are compliant, then it is Whole30 compliant yogurt. You have to find one with NO sweeteners, which are in the bulk of most yogurt brands. I did not find anything I didn’t like.Finding Whole30 compliant Yogurt Brands can be super tough for a few reasons. Beyond variety, each one of its products is incredible. Overall I find So Delicious to be… So Delicious! It is a company that commits to giving so much to plant-based consumers. It is one of my favorite yogurt flavors I have ever tried!

It comes with delicious lime-flavored yogurt, graham cracker crumbs, and white chocolate bits. The most exciting yogurt is probably the key lime pie flavor. You can try their cocoa almond crunch, spiced blueberry, salted-caramel cluster, and more. Like Silk, So Delicious offers cereal topping products. You can try chocolate, peach, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry banana, and more. Although it is only made from coconut milk, there is still an exciting array of flavors to try. The vegan yogurt from this company is no different. And the number of flavors that come with each base… don’t get me started! They have soy, cashew, coconut, almond, and oat bases. In a previous article, I mentioned that So Delicious has some of the best variety when it comes to ice cream.
